“ LOVE this vegetarian Chinese restaurant! So many options. The service is very friendly and attentive. Was not busy when we went which was nice so no wait. ”
“ This place is not only vegetarian (which is the first thing they told me when I walked in, to avoid any misconceptions), but also Malaysian, a cuisine that is hard to find in any form in the U.S. I went for wheat noodles, though if I'd noticed the wide rice noodles on the menu I might have ordered those instead. This was a place that had a lot of starchy fake meat kinds of things, and my noodles came with a tasty sauce and several such fake meats mixed in. I was given chopsticks but opted for a fork. A loose leaf tea added on had quality leaves and took a while to drink as they gave me a pot (albeit no water on the side). Notably, they had a station where you could pay to charge a phone, but I also found a seat next to an outlet and no one stopped me from using it (and device charging is just clutch for a tourist like me). There were many other things worth trying, but I spread myself thin on this visit. I'd be happy to come back ”
“ I had the BBQ noodles and rendang chicken. The noodles were more or less a pretty standard stir fried noodle dish, but the sauce on the rendang chicken was spicy and flavorful. I appreciate the variety of mock meats and the Malay-style dishes. ”
“ All vegans / vegetarians should come and try this spot! The veg wonton noodle soup was so tasty. The broth wasn't too salty and the flavor/texture was perfect. The other dish is a seasoned chicken dish that they just added to the menu which was also really tasty. I love all the fresh veggies in the meals and the rice/wontons are cooked to perfection. They have a large menu selection of food and drinks. Some of the items are vegetarian, but most things are fully vegan just ask the waiter. Awesome area in Chinatown to explore after grabbing a bite! ”
“ If you're looking for some delicious food in Chinatown, NYC, I recommend Asian-fusion restaurant Happy Veggie Restaurant on Mott Street. It's a small, hole in the wall spot worth stopping for. While it's a vegan/vegetarian restaurant, you don't have to be either to indulge in the delicious food they have to offer. One thing about me is I love a good bun. If you do too, you're in for a real treat. While these aren't my favorite buns in the city, they're definitely up there! They offer a number of tasty homemade buns here, including: -Vegetables -BBQ VEG -Curry Potato -Pumpkin Taro -Peanut You can order 3 for $3.75 or 6 for $6.95. Another one of my favorites offered here happens to be a Thai staple dessert - mango and sticky rice. Healthy (ish) AND tasty? I'm here for it! Hot Tip: while they accept card here, a lot of spots in Chinatown only accept cash. There are so many delicious bakeries and other food spots where you can pop in for some authentic and phenomenal food. So make sure to have it on you when going here! ”
“ Honestly can't say I missed the meat As a lover of Asian food eating with a vegetarian friend, I was happy to have discover this spot. We were seated immediately in the assuming interior. The menu is quite diverse with a good variety of offerings. We went for the roti canai to start - the pancake was crispy (tho less puffy than I like but that is okay) and the gravy was well spiced and quite spicy actually. We then went for the shrimp rolls which were fire. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Honestly tasted exactly like shrimp. We also got the veggie musubi which had some kind of spam substitute which was noticeable but not in a bad way - had a nice salty bite to it. For the big dishes we got the crispy chicken with rice which def tasted like tofu but quite yummy. To finish things off we got the fried noodles with egg which were classic Singaporian style rice noodles. Overall great spot for vegetarian fare, a tad pricey with reasonable portion sizes but I am not surprised as meat substitutes likely cost a bit more. ”
“ Next time I come here I want to try everything on the menu since it's all vegetarian friendly, in fact, it's mainly vegan! It might be priced slightly higher than most foods in Chinatown but I think it might be worth it for a good meal. We ordered the mock duck buns and they were delicious. The "meat" was prepared and seasoned well and the bun was soft. Our favorite part was the added cucumber which provided that refreshing element. This place was a part of our Chinatown food hop, but I'd definitely come back to eat a full meal here. ”
“ Was unsure what to expect coming here since I've never had vegetarian Chinese food or been big on fake meats but was pleasantly surprised! Everything was delicious - my favourite was the curry combination noodle soup. The total bill ended up maybe a bit higher than I expected (especially for the salt and pepper chicken) but I understand that good fake meat is pricey. Also love that there's a Yomi rice yogurt here. ”
